Terms of Service
Effective date: May 2, 2026
1. About Precover and these terms
Precover is a free, informational pre-op readiness screening tool. By using Precover you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Precover.
2. Precover is informational, not medical care
Precover is a decision-support and educational tool. Precover does not provide medical advice, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and does not clear anyone for surgery or anesthesia. Final decisions remain with your surgeon, anesthesia team, and other treating clinicians. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the United States) or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of the United States to use Precover.
4. Accurate information
You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information when completing the screening. The output Precover produces depends entirely on the answers you give it.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Precover for anyone other than yourself, submit information about a third party without their permission, probe non-public areas of the service, reverse engineer the service, harass or impersonate any person, use automated systems to submit large numbers of forms, or commercially exploit the service or its outputs without our written permission.
6. Your content
The information you submit remains yours. By submitting it, you grant Precover a limited license to process it for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy. You may keep, print, and share your packet. You may not copy or republish the underlying templates, rules engine, prompts, or product design.
7. AI-assisted features
Some features use AI services (currently OpenAI) to assist with reading your medication list and producing patient-friendly explanations. AI output can be wrong. The Proceed / Prepare / Pause readiness decision itself is rules-based, not AI-decided. Always verify medication names and clinical guidance with your surgeon and pharmacist.
8. No warranties
Precover is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Precover and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenues, data, or goodwill. Total aggregate liability will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Precover from claims arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. You may stop using the service at any time.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any dispute must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
