Privacy Policy

Summary
Precover is a free pre-op readiness screening tool for people preparing for elective cosmetic surgery. We collect basic identifying information and answers about your health, medications, sleep, and nutrition to produce your readiness summary. We are not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate.
Information we collect
Identifiers (name, email, date of birth, optional phone, optional surgeon and practice details), screening answers (medical history, medications, sleep apnea screen, nutrition), lead-capture emails, and technical request logs (IP, user agent, request path, status, timing). Wizard progress is held in browser sessionStorage. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.
How we use it
To produce your readiness summary and consultation packet, save your result so you can return to it, follow up with you only if you opted in, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug the service in aggregate.
Who else sees your information
Replit hosts the application and PostgreSQL database. OpenAI parses your medication free-text into a structured list (no name, email, or other identifiers are sent). We do not sell your information and do not share it with surgeons automatically — sharing only happens when you copy the share link or download and send the PDF.
Data retention
Screening data is kept indefinitely so you can return to your share link; email us to request deletion within 30 days. Lead-capture emails are kept until you ask to be removed. Technical request logs are kept for up to 90 days.
Your choices
Email us to request a copy of, or deletion of, your screening data. Decline any optional question. Sharing your packet is your choice — we never share automatically.
HIPAA position
Precover is offered directly to consumers, not to a healthcare provider on your behalf. We are not a HIPAA covered entity or business associate, and the federal HIPAA Privacy Rule does not apply to the information you submit. We still treat your information carefully under this Privacy Policy and applicable state consumer privacy laws.
Children
Precover is not directed to anyone under 18. The screening start page requires you to confirm you are 18 or older.
Geographic scope
Precover is intended for residents of the United States. We do not target users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions outside the United States.
Security
We use TLS in transit, password-controlled access to the database, server-side input validation, rate limiting, and a least-privileged operational posture. Report vulnerabilities to the contact below.
